The latest Bundesliga Diaries Shorts episode is now available! Berlin is famous for a lot of things, but its football is, from afar at least, not one of them. However, Germany’s capital does indeed have a rich and vibrant footballing scene. While Hertha Berlin and Union Berlin are the first clubs from the city that come to mind, there are tens of other outfits operating at lower levels, each with their own story.
To help tell Berlin’s footballing history, we spoke to Jacob Sweetman, a Berlin football historian. In a wide-ranging interview, we take you from the early days of the beautiful game in the city right through to the present day.
