The Bundesliga is finally back, and what a first matchday we had! Most will have expected Bayern to beat Schalke, but few will have predicted the eventual 8-0 scoreline. The champions dominated from start to finish, issuing an ominous warning to the rest of the league.
Borussia Dortmund faced a more difficult task against Monchengladbach, but in the end, they prevailed 3-0. Erling Haaland scored twice after Gio Reyna opened the scoring – BVB’s young guns came to the fore.
There was plenty of other action – 36 goals overall – and as ever, we cover it all.
